Introduction
“A traveling smith looking to settle into a city life. She appears to be of average skill but is confident with her work and doesn’t stress easily.”
Neverwinter
Free-spirited and adventurous, Jenifyr goes with the flow to wherever life takes her. She enjoys new sights and new experiences. A half-elf female with the unlikely profession of armorsmithing, she likes being different and doing things outside the box. Convention and conformity aren’t in her vocabulary. She prefers art and edginess in her style, her hobbies, and in her taste in men.
Which is why she becomes attracted to Fen Winterfield, a human leatherworker at the workshop.
As two of the younger employees in the crew, they are initially drawn to each other due to their closeness in age and their alternative styles, both with dyed hair. Jenifyr seems interested in Fen’s artistic poet persona. And it isn’t long before they become romantically involved.
They are a couple not meant to last, however.
As patient and understanding as Jenifyr tries to be with Fen’s jealousy and feelings of inadequacy, his constant somber, sulking mood begins to weigh heavy on her more carefree personality.
And other clashes cause more rifts in their relationship. Whereas Jenifyr is attracted to city life, Fen feels it contributes to his misery and desires a more rural, isolated area where he can peacefully work on his writing. Fen is more traditional in regards to romance and how he wants to live, while Jenifyr is more unconventional and modern.
Being half-elf and human, the eventual aging issue becomes a concern as well, as Jenifyr realizes she isn’t in love and not willing to make a sacrifice for something she doesn’t feel committed to.
In the end, their differences prove to be incompatible, and Fen’s emotional, brooding nature becomes too much for Jenifyr.
She consequently breaks up with him, and also leaves the workshop, ready to move on from Fen, and from Neverwinter.
Follow-Up
Valkilmar later encounters Jenifyr in Baldur’s Gate while seeking information in the city on the whereabouts of Gavanairk and Larkyn. Jenifyr is with a new boyfriend, half-elf artificer Shayne Tidemoon.
